I WANT TO BE A SWAMP
2024
Mexican choreographer Yolanda Morales and her international team imagine a natural scenario on stage and become masters of ceremony within it. They celebrate, in the form of memories, a North German moorland landscape, an ecosystem threatened with destruction. Remembered colours, smells, sounds, image fragments and microforms become physical, fluid testimonies to this dying landscape. With songs, choral voices, electronic sounds and shamanic-like repetitions, the dancers conjure up the composting forces of the moor and dance a tribute to nature’s art of transformation.
