A concert without an instrument, a song without a voice, a dialogue without an answer, a duet with only one body. What does absence sound like? And can silence be made visible?

In the performance concert +1, a performer, a percussionist, and an audio artist encounter ghostly counterparts: a missing instrument, a voice of a deceased person, an untransmitted song lyric, a crackle in the recording. In an absurd, séance-like stage setting, they record the silence again and again, multiplying, amplifying, distorting and eavesdropping on it. +1 invites you to remember and imagine with your ears — to listen to what was there, what could be there, is there.

Hamburg based theatre maker Greta Granderath recently directed the acclaimed performance concert HIT at Kraftwerk Bille, invited to the SEANAPS festival in Leipzig (LOFFT theatre, 19th and 21st September 2024).
