When it’s haunted, everything gets mixed up. Goose bumps. The nerve pathways in our body are on alert because we can no longer trust reality as we know it. In these intense and eerie moments, we come into contact with the past and the future at the same time, with ancestors and descendants. Together with an integrated audio description, the performers in GESPENSTER transform themselves into ghost hunters and the hunted, collecting ghosts from experiences of the body, life and violence. The ghosts of the past and present leave them no peace and find none themselves. In a reality in which being at home is not an option anyway, GESPENSTER celebrates the pleasure of goosebumps, eeriness and haunting. Because the haunting also carries an enormous potential: everything suddenly changes!
